Vauxhall & I CD music Scratch the rather dour eigth track, this is a good cd to get. Sounds are refined, and the "studio sound" is perfected from his last album. He also never ceases to be quite a vocal presence, as in Lifeguard Sleeping. Following this album, though, his wit was rather expired.

With an album full of ringing, guitar-pop gems, Vauxhall and I is the Morrissey album that most-closely resembles his former outfit, the Smiths. One of his personal best, Vauxhall and I should be in the collections of anyone who ever said they were a Smiths fan, a Morrissey fan, or is simply a fan of winsome (or "whine some" as the case may be) jangle pop.
